Bryan College Library is open to all alumni and community members!
A library card is not required to browse the collection, use computers, or attend community events. A library card must be obtained before checking out any items from the collection.
We are Open!
Regular semester hours are 8am-5pm Monday through Friday.
Announcements for school breaks and weather closures will be posted
on the homepage of the website. To double check that the Bryan
College Library is open (in case of weather, holidays, etc.), please

RightNow Media
RightNow media is a free resource provided by the Bryan College Library to the entire Bryan community- including alumni! Please follow the link to create an account. If you have any questions, please reach out to the BC Library!
TEL
TEL (or Tennessee Electronic Library) is free to all TN residents. TEL includes the GALE databases, test & career prep, genealogical resources, and more! To access these resources, you will need a library card from a TN public library. If you have any questions, please reach out the BC Library or your local public library.

Yearbooks
The Bryan College Library holds a collection of all of the Bryan yearbooks (The Commoner). To view these items, please come to the BC Library and request the year you are looking for at the circulation desk. Editions from 1930-2015 are also available on the library website.

Books, DVDs, etc.

Interlibrary Loan
Interlibrary loan (ILL) is not available through BC Library for community patrons, including alumni. If we do not have the item that you need, we recommend trying your local public or academic library.
Databases
Access to the library's databases is available in-person at the Bryan College Library. They are not available off-campus because of licensing policies from the publishers.
Get a Library Card
To use Bryan College Library's resources, individuals need to obtain a free library card through the BC Library.
To be eligible for a library card, individuals must be a resident of Rhea County or one of the counties that touches Rhea County. If you are not sure if you are eligible, please call the Bryan College Library.
There are two ways a library card can be requested: in person and online.
In-Person
1. Bring your driver's license to the Bryan College Library.
2. Request a library card at the circulation desk.
3. You will be asked to provide your driver's license and to fill out a form.
4. You will receive a physical library card.
Online
1. Fill out this form.
2. Bring your driver's license to the circulation desk to receive your library card.
Community Patron Policy
This policy applies to all alumni and community patrons. If you have any questions about the policy, please contact the Bryan College Library.
Library Hours:
The library is open to community patrons during the following hours:
- Monday-Friday - 8:00am-5:00pm
- Closed on weekends, and some holidays/school breaks (check the calendar on the library website to check for closures: library.bryan.edu)
The exterior doors are locked. Please call the Library for admittance (423-775-7307).
Circulation Policies:
Patrons must present their library card and photo ID when checking out library materials. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
Borrowing Period for Materials:
- Books - 3 weeks - 3 renewals (May renew by phone: 775-7307)
- DVDs - 3 days - No renewals
You can have five (5) items total checked out at one time:
- A limit of five (5) books may be checked out at any one time.
- A limit of two (2) DVDs may be checked out at any one time.
Residents who are 18 years old and above may check out materials according to the regular checkout policy. Those under 18 may check out materials if they are enrolled in one of the local high schools or are home schooled.
No materials will be checked out to Community Patrons who owe fines.
Acceptable Use Policy:
All users are subject to the terms of Bryan College's "acceptable use policy for technology resources." Unauthorized or inappropriate use of computers is prohibited in the library.
Fine Policy:
- Books: $0.10 per day per item
- DVDs: $1.00 per day per item
Lost or Damaged Materials:
In the even that material is lost or damaged beyond normal wear and tear, the patron will be charged the replacement cost plus a $10.00 processing fee.
It must be understood that the Bryan College Library exists primarily to serve the students and the faculty of Bryan College. This being the case, the library reserves the right to place additional restrictions on the use of our library by community patrons.
