This multi-disciplinary database provides full text for more than 4,600 journals, including full text for nearly 3,900 peer-reviewed titles. PDF backfiles to 1975 or further are available for well over one hundred journals, and searchable cited references are provided for more than 1,000 titles.

AfriClassical.com Here you will meet 52 composers, conductors and instrumental performers - Africans, African Americans and Afro-Europeans. Many are alive today, but one lived 500 years ago! These artists are unknown to most of us, yet are so numerous this site can present only a fraction of them. They have made enduring contributions to Classical Music. Several have composed, conducted and performed Classical Music. Le Chevalier de Saint-Georges (1745-1799) of Guadeloupe is one of those multi-talented musicians. Cuban classical guitarist Leo Brouwer (b. 1939) is another. Over 100 sound samples can be heard at the Audio page and at the biographical pages.
Afrocentric Voices in "Classical" Music Afrocentric Voices focuses on classically trained American singers and composers of African descent and on the vocal music forms they influenced, especially opera and art songs–including Negro spirituals composed for concert performance.

Digital Bodleian digitized copies from the Bodleian's collections of piano music intended for the amateur market in mid-Victorian Britain. The scores, many of which have richly decorated or illustrated covers, can be found here, along with a growing database of descriptive metadata to enable the sheet music to be searched and located.

The Great 78 Project The Great 78 Project is a community project for the preservation, research and discovery of 78 rpm records. From about 1898 to the 1950's, an estimated 3 million sides (~3 minute recordings) have been made on 78 rpm discs. 78's were mostly made from shellac, i.e., beetle resin, and were the brittle predecessors to the LP (microgroove) era. The format is obsolete, and just picking them up can cause them to break apart. Digitization makes this less commonly available music accessible to researchers in a format where it can be manipulated and studied without harming the physical artifacts. We have preserved the often very prominent surface noise and imperfections and included files generated by different sizes and shapes of stylus to facilitate different kinds of analysis.
Hymnal.net Hymnal.net is a non-profit site that generates no income. We serve to provide an avenue for God’s children to enjoy the hymns from anywhere and at any time. Hymns on this site are either posted with permission or belong to the public domain. A public domain hymn is a hymn that predates copyright laws, and whose copyright has expired. Materials dated 1922 or earlier are usually in the public domain.
Hymnary Hymnary.org is an online hymn and worship music database for worship leaders, hymnologists, and amateur hymn lovers alike. At Hymnary.org you can search or browse hymns by title, tune, meter, key, scripture reference, and more. In partnership with The Hymn Society in the United States and Canada, Hymnary.org now houses the Dictionary of North American Hymnology, adding over a million first lines of hymns, collected and organized by Leonard Ellinwood and later digitized by Mary Louise VanDyke and Paul Powell with the help of Hymn Society members all over the U.S and Canada -- making Hymnary.org the most complete database of North American hymnody on the planet.
The Hymn Tune Index The HTI database contains all hymn tunes printed anywhere in the world with English-language texts up to 1820, and their publication history up to that date.

Musica Docta «Musica Docta» is an open access peer reviewed digital magazine, born in 2010 in the context of the SagGEM (Group for Music Education of the «Music Assayer»). The magazine hosts pedagogical and didactic-musical studies and publishes in Italian, French, English, Spanish and German. The denomination Musica docta alludes on the one hand to the enhancement of art music (without prejudice to other musical genres and traditions) and on the other to its transmission in the didactic experience.

National Jukebox - Library of Congress The Library of Congress presents the National Jukebox, which makes historical sound recordings available to the public free of charge. The Jukebox includes recordings from the extraordinary collections of the Library of Congress National Audio-Visual Conservation Center and other contributing libraries and archives. Recordings in the Jukebox were issued on record labels now owned by Sony Music Entertainment, which has granted the Library of Congress a gratis license to stream acoustical recordings.
New York Philharmonic Archives The New York Philharmonic Leon Levy Digital Archives was launched in February 2011, and currently comprises more than four million pages, including printed programs, marked conducting scores, business documents, and photographs. Growing continually, the scope of the online collection is every document in the New York Philharmonic Archives from 1842 through 1970. This includes correspondence, marked scores and parts, contracts, and minutes from meetings of the Board of Directors — as well as all public documents from 1970 through today (e.g., marketing materials, press releases, and annual reports).
